Too long storgae will inevitably affect the quality.
The recommended temperature during transport is 15 degrees Celsius or 80 degrees Fharenheit
Temperature variations must be avoided as much as posssible

On arrival at the point of sale Poinsettia should immediately be removed from their sleeves. Adequeate light and air are essential to minmize loss of quality.
To avoid infestation by Botrytis the plants must be wrapped absolutely dry.

Why are the top leaf red from a X-star ?
All poinsettias are short-day light plant. Flowerbud and bracct formation can be initiated only by an 8 week period of no more thasn 10 hours of light and no less than 14 hourds of 100 % total, uninterrupted darkness per 24 hours.
Within this time shedule of 8 week, you can timed it also for Easter.
The Poinsettia grows wild in Mexico, it is a 6 food tall shrub
The Poinsettia is definitely a seasonal plant.
The plant has no resistance to cold or draught. It should be well wrapped when taken home.
Do not remove the wrapping untill the plant has reached its destination. Place it in good light, but not in full sun, in a saucer or an ornamental pot.
Regularly water with tepid water.
Water only when slightly drooping foliage indicates the need; the potting mixture should then be thoroughly saturated.
Once a week give a dose of fertiliser.
Ensure a reasonbly high degree of atmospheric humidity. If the air is too dry the flower buds and/orr leafs will drop.
Properly cared for the plant will flower for a very long time.

The poinsettia has no resistance to too high or too low temperatures or severe temperature variations.
Optimum temperature during transport is 15 degrees of Celsius.
Low temperatures cause damage in the shappe of discoloration of the flower umbel and limp plants.
Excessive temperatures may cause leaf drop.
Because of the risk of Botrytis, wrapped plants should be in transit for the shortest possible time.
