Aalsmeer Flower Auction ( V.B.A.) is the biggest flower auction in the world.
Aalsmeer is the top seller of all the Dutch grown TULIPS. More than 115 different species of tulips a day.
Total tulip stems sold every day is roughly 216.000 in the spring until mid-May .

The flower market ( V.B.A. ) promote the new species with the name FLEUR PRIMEUR The new tulip is tested in the quality and research room for vase life ( see picture research room ) : The minimum qualifications for entrance, is 6 days for tulips to remain beautiful in " Vase-life " and after transport and in the retail shop, 4 days " Vase-life".
